What you have to keep in prespective is that the player is only 17 yrs old. There is a big difference physically between 17 yrs and even 19 yrs of age. I don't want to go on record and state that he is the savior of baseball, but he's going to be an impact player.

I hope that he keeps his head on straight, and by all accounts he is still a 17yr old young man just loves playing on the field.

I don't know if it is going to help the Nationals with Matt and Bryce plsying together, but it will be interesting. I like the kid and I think he's going to do just fine in the bigs.

"Let’s hope he has his head on a little straighter than Alex Rodriguez too!"

from what i've read, that may be a tall order for him ;)

i wish him luck though. a signing like this could turn the Nationals around like the Rays have in recent years...

Harper had unbelieveable weekend to lead his team to the NJCAA world series starting next weekend as in the championship game he hit 4 homers,a triple and double with 10 RBI's. The previous day he also went 6-6 ,hitting for the cycle with 6 rbi's and in the championship game he came to bat for the last time needing only a single for a cycle on consecutive days but instead hit a homer over the centerfield fence, his fourth of the game. Before this weekend he had been in a wood bat league ant hit ONLY 23 hr's but his coach said he would easily have hit over 40 with aluminum bats and who could doubt him after what happened this past weekend which started with a blast of over 500 ft for his first of 7 homeruns for the weekend that boosted his total to 30. My only question is why do the opposing managers pitch to him, seems obvious it would be better to give him an intentional walk even if the bases are loaded, two 6 for 6 games on successive days should be a warning shot over the bow to their opponents at the World Series in Grand Junction, Co. next weekend.
